What is the Chemical Peel treatment process like?

Indulge in an hour of relaxation at Vamped Cosmetics and leave with deeply cleansed, radiant skin. Our signature facial includes a cleansing, toning, exfoliating, and neutralizing combination of lactic and salicylic acid peels, ideal for addressing congestion and dullness.
Enhance your experience with a clay mask to lift debris and toxins, or opt for a vitamin-enriched mask to hydrate and promote a glowing complexion. For even deeper penetration of our peels, pair them with a dermaplaning session. Dermaplaning is the manual removal of dead skin cells and peach fuzz using a sterile blade, revealing a fresh layer of skin and allowing serums and treatments to absorb more effectively.
If you're struggling with acne (excess oil buildup) or melasma (hormonal pigmentation around the face and mouth), a chemical peel may be an excellent solution. Formulated with 26 potent ingredients, including kojic acid, arbutin, and retinol, this peel helps suppress melanocytes and reduce dark spots. It’s also highly effective for controlling sebaceous glands and preventing excessive oil production.
Where can Chemical Peels be used?
The most common area for medical-grade facials is the face. Other areas include:
● Neck and chest
● Hands
● Buttocks and back of legs
● Shoulders and upper arms
How many facials do I need?
For more noticeable and lasting results, we recommend 3 to 6 sessions of treatment, spaced 3 to 4 weeks apart. To maintain your results, periodic treatments every few months are encouraged.
Chemical peels typically require 1 to 3 sessions, depending on your skin's needs. A consultation is ideal before booking, as this treatment may involve more downtime.

What are the common side effects of medical-grade facials?
You may appear slightly flushed and red in the treatment area right after your appointment, though these effects should disappear within half an hour. Although rare, some less common side effects include:
● Prolonged redness and heat
● Scratches or light scabbing
● Burns and peeling
How do I prep before and after my Chemical Peel treatment?
To ensure the best results and avoid potential adverse reactions, it’s important to disclose your current skincare routine and any medications you're using prior to treatment at Vamped Cosmetics.
Please refrain from tanning and using products like acid-based cleansers, serums, retinol, and skin-bleaching ointments for 3 days before and after your treatment. If you're on prescribed acne or skin medications, consult with your dermatologist before proceeding.
After treatment, avoid intense workouts and hot showers to minimize irritation. We may also recommend specific skincare products based on the treatments you receive.
