SCULPTRA
Sculptra is an injectable solution made of polylactic acid (PLLA) that helps gradually replace lost collagen, the most common protein in the body that is used to form a framework to support cells and tissue. It is indicated for use in the face and body in addition to fillers and neuromodulators, but more commonly known for non-surgical buttocks enhancements, where surgical fat transfers may not be recommended.

What is a Sculptra treatment process like?
Scupltra is a needle-based procedure and is relatively painless. A single poke with a cannula will comfortably allow the solution to be injected. During the consultation, the amount and desired look will be mapped out and discussed. Initial fullness and contour are seen immediately after treatment, and will settle once swelling has subsided. A gradual increase of volume will take place over several weeks as collagen begins to regrow.
Like any aesthetic procedure, there is no guarantee of complete satisfaction. Results vary. Duration of effectiveness is dependent on several factors such as lifestyle and skin condition.
Where can Sculptra be injected?
Scupltra is indicated for subtle facial enhancements where collagen can be boosted. This is considered a wonderful alternative to fillers for full-face natural lift, smoothness and overall rejuvenation on the:
- Temples
- cheekbones
- mid-face
- jawline
However, it can alternatively be used for the buttocks and hip dips to give a natural curve to theses areas.

How many Sculptra treatments do I need?
Typically, 1-2 treatments are sufficient, depending on the amount of Sculptra used and the specific area being treated. A second treatment is recommended 4-6 weeks later for enhanced collagen boosting. To ensure optimal results, we offer a package of 3 treatments for the face.
Collagen production will continue for up to 12 months after your treatment, though most clients won’t see noticeable results until about 3 months in, so patience is key.
How long does Sculptra last?
Depending on the number of treatments, amount of product and metabolism, Sculptra can last up to 2-3 years.
What are the common side effects of Sculptra?
Scupltra is a safe procedure and will be accompanied by significant swelling. Other common side effects include:
● Redness
● Bleeding
● Discomfort
● Bruising
● Lumps
How do I prep before and after my Sculptra treatment?
please avoid taking blood thinners like Advil or Aspirin for at least 24 hours before and after treatment. If you're on a prescribed blood thinner, do not stop your medication, but please be aware that you may be at a higher risk of bruising and bleeding. Omega-3 supplements and certain multivitamins can also thin the blood, so it’s best to stop taking them 2-3 days before your treatment. Additionally, please refrain from consuming alcohol for at least 24 hours prior to your appointment.
If you're prone to bruising or swelling, consider taking Arnica, a natural anti-inflammatory supplement available at most health stores or pharmacies.
After the treatment, it is also recommended to not consume alcohol for 24 hours to reduce the amount of potential bruising and swelling. Taking Arnica and icing the treated area will also reduce these side effects. Gentle massages for 5 minutes, 5 times a day for 5 days of the targeted area will help reduce inflammation and lumpiness of the product as it heals. It is best to avoid taking a hot shower 24 hours post-treatment to reduce the intensity of inflammation which may cause prolonged irritation. It is recommended to refrain from working out, dental work, air travel, facials, back massages, hot tubs, saunas and steam rooms for one week to avoid premature breakdown of Sculptra. Sleeping on the treatment area is also not advised, as it causes prolonged pressure and can flatten the volume of solution. For additional questions and/or concerns please contact us.
